Famine was one of a trio of experiments working under the influence of STARD, along with Infection and Disease. Before being captured and used as an experiment in part of a program created to explore biological weaponry, Famine was a relatively normal individual, albeit a bit shy and somewhat high-strung. He lived with a large family under the ecampment territory of STARD's rule, and although he lived in poverty he did not consider himself unhappy nor underprivledged despite his whole family being very careful of what they said or did under the forceful government.
After being used as a veritable tool for STARD and its experimentation program, Famine's already weak-mind broke assumably beyond repair, and he became unpredictable and wild: so much so that he had to be placed in a straight jacket by STARD itself. Because the power that Famine controls when unrestrained is much greater, and because of his unpredictable nature, Famine is always contained in his straight jacket by those on his side and against.
Famine fights using acidic stomach acid and poisonous saliva, both of which can corrode hard surfaces within minutes; or even seconds if used in an especially malevolent manner. One of his hobbies is frightening Infection.
